That is why I trust you
Text und Musik:Ann-Helena
That is why I trust you, Lord
(Warum ich dir vertraue, Gott)
(eine wahre Geschichte)
How can I trust You, Lord?
1. Waves of endless fighting frightened me today.
I was very striving hoping that they may understand my feelings, crushed inside my heart and bleeding out of many wounds, but they have been hard.
2. Shippering confused through cold and lonely nights, wrestling with you, God, I didn‘t understand your mind. Struggling with your Word and fleeing from your face to all my hiding places – but they have been distroyed by You.
Chorus I:
How can I trust You, Lord, and give everything to you? How can I trust You, Lord, and give everything to you?
Hmmm… help me Lord.
How Could I – and not dying right away? How Could I – and not burning hot away?
How can I trust You, Lord, and give everything to you?
3. But then it did accure me that You‘ve been always there, keeping all your promises and with amazing care You asked me all Your questions deep inside my soul, and quietly you tenderized my hardness and made me whole.
4. You whispered in my breathing: „Hey my little Child. Do you think I’m blind? But I am dangerous and wild. I have not forgotten all my dreams and ways. But rely on me, because the war is my case!“
Chorus II:
That is why I trust you, Lord, and give everything to You. That is why I trust you, Lord, and give everything to You.
Cause the war is your case!
How can I, how could I – I cannot, but You do!
That is why – because the war is your case!
(Melanchthon)
